Genetic Alliance provides organizations in our network with essential tools needed to successfully serve their membership and achieve their missions. To that end we have dynamic resources that emphasize expanded access to quality, vetted information. Our tools include:

Wiki Genetic IconWikiGenetics and WikiAdvocacy Wiki Advocacy Icon
WikiGenetics and WikiAdvocacy are user-friendly, user-generated, online tools that provide resources for all stakeholders in lay language.  WikiGenetics was created to provide credible and up-to-date information on human genetics, while WikiAdvocacy offers a communal resource for real-time, interactive, online community where advocates contribute to the education and support of their colleagues by sharing wisdom and experiences. WikiAdvocacy also includes the Interactive Guide to Advocacy.

The Resource Repository is a community treasury of resources that cover every aspect of organizational development in addition to basic genetics, research, education, and policy.

Family Tree Icon A Guide to Family Health History booklet coverFamily Health History Resources
The Does it Run in the Family? toolkit is available to assist in the development of family health history programs and the promotion of health in families. This resource helps communities develop ways of organizing and preserving their family history and health-related records.

Understanding Genetics Manual Understanding Genetics: A Guide for Patients and Professionals
This customizable manual covers basic genetics concepts in addition to in-depth information about receiving a diagnosis of a genetic condition, newborn screening, family health history gathering, genetic counseling, and genetic testing and its applications.

Disease InfoSearch provides information on more than 1,000 genetic conditions, contributed and vetted by the advocacy organizations in our network and disease-specific links to National Library of Medicine resources.

Listserv Discussion Groups
Joining Genetic Alliance provides access to listservs that give you an opportunity to discuss critical issues as a virtual community. We encourage all groups and individuals in our network to sign up for these lists.
