What are qualified investigators and study staff and why are they important in drug development?

Qualified investigators and study staff oversee the entire clinical trial. A principle investigator has the sole responsibility of overseeing all the research. Study staff may be responsible for certain tasks within the study. Investigators and study staff are deemed qualified to conduct the study by their level of education, training and experience in performing their assigned task.
