What is PK (ADME) and why is it important in drug development?

Pharmacokinetics (PK) is the study of how the body metabolizes a drug and how this drug is distributed throughout the body. PK (ADME) refers to pharmacokinetic (PK) studies that quantitatively measure the absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination (ADME) of a compound in a living organism.
