Over the last two decades, Genetic Alliance membership has grown to 600 organizations representing more than 1,000 conditions affecting approximately 14 million individuals. The Gala was an opportunity to applaud the leadership and strength of our members and recognizes the critical impact Genetic Alliance makes in genetics and consumer advocacy.
The leadership exhibit the centerpiece of the Gala, celebrated the successes of our member organizations: improved delivery of health care services, acceleration of scientific discoveries, development of sound public policies, and support for families and loved ones living with genetic conditions.
The leaders of these advocacy organizations were featured in a museum-quality exhibit displaying photographs accompanied by well-articulated stories highlighting leadership from many organizations. Individuals honored included founders of advocacy organizations, members of those groups, volunteers, and others who have motivated their communities to achieve their goals and do more. Leadership in our community is inspiring
