Duke Institute - Community Centered Family Health History Program Award Recipients

The Duke Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy (IGSP) is a multidisciplinary network of centers, research programs, and educational activities that, together, form an integrated approach to genome sciences and their implications for health and society. Directed by Huntington Willard, PhD, the IGSP actively builds bridges among researchers, clinicians, policy experts, and the general public to address successfully the challenges represented by the Genome Revolution. Instrumental to this goal is the Center for Genomic Medicine, which strives to translate the findings from genome discovery into medically-useful information, tools, and tests, guided by input in genome ethics and policy—driving personalized medicine into the mainstream of medical practice and healthcare.

The LIVE FOR LIFE (LFL) program at Duke is a well-established health promotion program built on the premise that the health of the individual is inseparable from the overall health of the organization. Since its inception in 1989, LFL has sought to deliver leading-edge, best-value health and wellness services that promote prevention, education, and self-responsibility to Duke employees. Based within Employee Occupational Health & Wellness (EOHW), Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, LFL is a well-recognized and utilized health promotion program serving the Duke employee community.
