Family History, Prenatal Care, and Novel Health Information Technology: A Collaborative Risk Assessment and Educational Tool for Health Professionals and the Public

Workshops: Session IV
Saturday, July 17, 2010
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

NCHPEG, March of Dimes, Genetic Alliance, Partners Healthcare, and HRSA are collaborating to develop a family history tool for prenatal providers and patients. This tool is a novel clinical resource that saves time for the provider, standardizes data collection, highlights genetic and prenatal risk factors for personalized risk assessment, generates suggested courses of action, and educates providers and patients. This session will include a live demonstration of the tool and presentations on the importance of family history for prenatal care from the perspectives of our diverse partner organizations.
