This presentation will discuss the rise and commonalities of the transformative Open Science, Medicine 2.0, Health 2.0, and e-Patient (particularly manifested in online patient communities) movements. Speakers will present a who’s who of the movements; examine how they are altering the research landscape; explore how new technologies are introducing personalized privacy preferences at every level; and outline the new paradigms and interactions between researchers and patients. The aim is to familiarize advocacy organizations with these developments and demonstrate how personalized privacy preferences can be implemented at every level.
