On July 16-18, 2010, Genetic Alliance held its Annual Conference – Advancing Novel Partnerships – at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in metro Washington, D.C. The Genetic Alliance Annual Conference is consistently inspirational and enables partnership among all stakeholders: advocates and community leaders, health and industry professionals, policymakers, and academicians.

Conference Participant Quote

On Friday, July 16, 2010, participants chose from four daylong symposia on Research, Genetics Services, Organizational Development, and Transformational Leadership. Later, participants enjoyed a new format for dinner, and chose from two simultaneous debates: each debate offered a unique opportunity for cutting-edge discourse relevant to the genetics community.

On Saturday, July 17, 2010, workshops shed new light on a range of topics, from health IT to community engagement and, of course, partnerships. Saturday evening, the community celebrated our award winners in advocacy, reporting, listening, and novel partnerships. Conference Participant Quote

On Sunday, July 18, 2010, participants chose to revisit principles from the leadership daylong symposium or  to explore the more free-form “Open Innovation” sessions, which allowed them to create their workshops.
