Diagnosing Disability Through Genetic Testing: A Social Justice Perspective

WORKSHOPS: Session IV
Saturday, July 18, 2009
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

This workshop will explore social and ethical issues in the use of genetic testing of fetuses, children, and adults. We will discuss information on genetic testing provided to consumers; the context in which that information is provided; and the decision-making process regarding testing, treatment, continuing or ending pregnancy, or other actions. Panelists will also explore how the ethical issues around genetic testing for disability intersect with reproductive justice and racial justice.
