Our mission at Citizens for Quality Sickle Cell Care, Inc. (CQSCC) is to ensure the availability and accessibility of quality and comprehensive medical care and support services for children and adults in Northern Connecticut with Sickle Cell Disease and other related disorders. We at Citizens for Quality Sickle Cell Care, Inc. work tirelessly to ensure that people with Sickle Cell Disease get their voices heard in all aspects of care. At present, our voices are focused on increasing opportunities for trait counseling and screening in our community, ensuring all individuals with SCD receive coordinated care, and working with emergency departments throughout Connecticut to develop exemplary pathways to care for all individuals with SCD. People Involved

Virginia Pertillar, Executive Director
Virginia Pertillar joined Citizens for Quality Sickle Cell Care, Inc., (CQSCC) as Executive Director in June 2009. Virginia's professional background includes serving as Director of Membership and Volunteers Services for Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Virginia also served as Director of the University of Hartford's Educational Main Street Program. Joining CQSCC has been an illuminating experience as I am learning more about Sickle Cell Disease, it has offered for me a life changing opportunity. My major objectives are to continue learning more about all aspects of Sickle Cell, become an advocate and a support to those who are suffering from this debilitating disease.

Beatrice Sullivan, Case Manager
Beatrice Sullivan is the Citizens for Quality Sickle Cell Care as Patient Advocate Systems Navigator. She has over twenty years in the Human Resources Field as well as extensive community involvement in both the Hartford and Bloomfield area. Beatrice is very excited about her position as Patient Advocate Systems Navigator and looks forward to giving the consumers of Northern Connecticut the quality service they deserve.
