Elizabeth Stark, MS, CGC

Maternal and Child Health Program Manager

Genetic Alliance

Elizabeth joined Genetic Alliance in 2011 as the Maternal and Child Health Program Manager. Her primary responsibilities include the implementation and management of BabysFirstTest.org, the nation's newborn screening clearinghouse, as well as the organization’s other newborn screening and prenatal initiatives. Elizabeth particularly enjoys working with the Consumer Task Force on newborn screening and managing the innovative programs coming out of the Challenge Award program.

A California native, Elizabeth graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Biological Sciences and a BA in Psychology. She then joined Teach for America and taught 7th grade Life Science and Health while earning her Masters in Secondary Education. While teaching, she discovered a passion for addressing issues surrounding discrepant access to services in our communities. After a move to the San Francisco Bay Area, Elizabeth returned to school and received an MS in Genetic Counseling. She began her genetics career working at the UCSF Cancer Risk Program providing genetic counseling to those with a personal or family history of cancer. Elizabeth came to Genetic Alliance in an effort to combine her interests in genetics, health advocacy, and public health education.
