Lauren Youngborg joined Genetic Alliance in September 2012 after serving as an Independent Contractor on several organizational projects. In her role as the Genetics Resources and Advocacy Outreach Coordinator, Lauren leads outreach efforts for Disease InfoSearch and the National Genetics Education and Consumer Network grant and provides programmatic and administrative support for the Newborn Screening Clearinghouse.
A native Texan, Lauren completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at the University of Texas, Austin in 2006 and a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling through the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston in 2008. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree through the University of Texas, School of Public Health. With this background, Lauren hopes to address disparities in genetics resources and services availability and deficits in genetics health literacy at both the national and local levels.
