Robert F. Vogt, Jr. Robert Vogt, Jr., PhD, was trained in the Immunology, Toxicology and Experimental Pathology Program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has been in the Division of Laboratory Sciences since joining CDC in 1984 and is currently head of the Immunologic Disorders Laboratory in the Newborn Screening and Molecular Biology Branch. He also serves as Principal Investigator for the Newborn Screening Translation Research Initiative, a cooperative effort with the CDC Foundation and public health, academic, and corporate partners. Robert’s primary laboratory interests are the measurement of immune biomarkers by ligand binding assays and the measurement of genomic and epigenomic biomarkers by mass spectrometry. Since 1999, his public health efforts have focused primarily on translating laboratory research findings into innovative methods for expanded newborn screening. He is also involved with epidemiologic studies of pathogenesis and environmental risk factors for lymphoid malignancies. He has published over 60 journal articles and several book chapters. Robert is a lifetime member of the Alpha Chapter, Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. |
