Amelia Chappelle, MS, MA Amelia Chappelle joined Genetic Alliance in June 2007 with a combined interest in genetics and health advocacy. In 2010, she moved back home to Seattle, Washington to work as a research coordinator at the University of Washington on projects aimed at reducing and appropriately responding to medical errors. She continues to work part time for Genetic Alliance on the Access to Credible Genetics Resources Network project. Amelia received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. In 2003, Amelia worked for the National Institutes of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in the Lab of Neurogenetics before moving to New York for graduate school. In 2007, she graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a dual master’s degree in Human Genetics and Health Advocacy. During her graduate career, Amelia gained clinical and public health experience in prenatal, pediatric, and cancer genetic counseling settings, as well as with various advocacy groups and state genetics departments.
