David Bentley is Vice President and Chief Scientist at Illumina, Inc., developing new DNA sequencing technology for fast, accurate sequencing of complex genomes. His research interests include the study of human sequence variation and its impact on health and disease. He was previously at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. As a founding member of the Board of Management and Head of Human Genetics, he played leading roles in the Human Genome Project, The SNP Consortium, and the International HapMap Project.
