Inform GINA’s Implementation
Play a role in the implementation of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) by responding to the request for public comment on Title I of GINA, the health insurance provisions of the bill.
On October 10, 2008, the Departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services put out a Request for Information (RFI) to obtain public comment on the health insurance provisions of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) of 2008. The Coalition for Genetic Fairness (CGF) undertook the process of responding to the RFI. Utilizing comments crafted by the Genetics and Public Policy Center, the members of the CGF Executive Committee developed draft comments to propose to the wide CGF membership. The CGF strongly encourages individuals and organizations to consider crafting comments for submission to the RFI. The deadline to submit comments is Tuesday, December 9, 2008.

To submit comments to the RFI, just follow these three simple steps:
- View the RFI, which contains an overview of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act followed by guiding questions to aid the public in creating comments.
- Draft comments in response to the guiding questions or particular areas of interest. Review the online Guide to GINA if you have questions about the legislation.
- Send in your comments! Follow the instructions on the first page of the RFI.
