Katherine Lambertson
Assistant Director, Translational Science
Katherine Lambertson is the Assistant Director of Translational Science at Genetic Alliance, where she focuses on projects that empower individuals, families, and communities to engage in biomedical research. She works to connect and engage disease advocacy organizations and researchers within the complex world of drug development, through tools like Genetic Alliance’s Navigating the Ecosystem of Translational Science (NETS) map, or through programs such as UNC Catalyst, of which Genetic Alliance is a founding partner. She also oversees Genetic Alliance’s registry platform, the Platform for Engaging Everyone Responsibly (PEER). PEER empowers individuals, families, and communities to share participant-reported outcomes and medical records in a trusted environment, and operates on the twin principles of 1) participant ownership of research data and 2) the elimination of siloed research databases.
Katherine graduated with honors from the University of Virginia in 2013, with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.A. in Linguistics.
