Digital Community Manager, PCORnet Commons
In her role as Digital Community Manager for PCORnet Commons at Genetic Alliance, Joanna is responsible for managing, evolving, and sustaining the PCORnet Commons platform and online community, as well as curating resources and tools to be shared on this digital space.
Joanna has expertise in strategic communication, community outreach, and project coordination to improve quality of life for individuals and communities. She is passionate about creating connections between industry, communities, and individuals to help people find – and successfully use – the resources necessary to improve health and well-being.
Prior to joining Genetic Alliance, Joanna was a Health Communications Fellow at the National Cancer Institute, Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information, which leads the coordination, development, and deployment of enterprise-wide digital capabilities (including biomedical informatics, scientific-management information systems, and computing resources) in support of the Institute's initiatives.
She has a background in community organizing, development, and fundraising around issues of housing and health. Joanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the East Carolina University and a Master of Public Health from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
